3 Bullets and a Call to Action

Original post: 3 Bullets and a Call to Action

I was always a supporter of short messages. They’re easier to process for the reader.

But they’re also harder to write because you need the ability to convey the important information in few sentences.

This post from Teiva Harsanyi suggests a good a framework to use (apprently inspired by the Debugging Teams book). The example from the post is worth a thousand words:

Hi,

  • I recently wrote a design doc on how to save storage in the context of X.
  • It highlights the main trade-offs and focuses on the solution Y.
  • I’ve added open questions around the deployment strategy.

Could you please have a look and leave comments by Friday?

Thanks!

That’s it. Clear and straight to the point. I’m going to try it out and see how it works.
