About me, myself and I

Hi, I’m Alberto! 👋

I’m a Senior Software Engineer with more than a decade of experience, currently working at Gigs, a Telecom-as-a-Service platform.

Throughout my career I’ve worked with different languages and technologies. I started out with Python, but over the years I’ve developed a strong preference for statically typed languages, Scala and Rust in particular.

They allow extremely precise modelling, help developers explore and understand the codebase and, last but not least, catch bugs and errors before they reach production, leading to more stable software in general. That said, I’ve come to appreciate that every language has its strengths. In fact, these days at Gigs I work mostly with Ruby and Go.

Outside the world of code, I enjoy dancing (Boogie Woogie and Salsa), solving escape rooms, reading and exploring new destinations. I’m also a trekker and aspiring photographer.

In 2021, I embarked on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage, starting from León and covering over 330 km in 15 days. This incredible journey left a lasting impression on me, and I aim to complete the entire path in the future.
